Weight Loss: First thing you have to keep in mind with weight loss is that it can not happen overnight. And secondly, everyone’s body is different, you can not compare your progress with someone else.
Weight loss could be achieved over a period of time if you have set a target for yourself by regular workout and diet. But here the most difficult part of weight loss comes, which is how to maintain that lost weight.
Initially, even if you start working out you will not drop weight as quickly as you must have thought. You have to look at your eating habits and your lifestyle to see a noticeable change on the weighing scale.
WEIGHT LOSS TIPS :
Simple changes to your daily routine can help you in weight loss without dieting. Making healthy choices, like eating breakfast and keep moving every day, is the first step to dropping the extra weight and feel fresh and energized throughout the day.
Tip1: Always start your day with water and especially before meals too
Start your day with morning water without brushing your teeth. It is often claimed that drinking water can help with weight loss and having water before meals helped in consuming fewer calories — and that’s true.
Drinking water boost metabolism.
Tip2: Try intermittent fasting
Something new is Intermittent fasting and it is getting popular eating pattern these days. In it, people cycle between periods of fasting and eating.
For me, I follow a simple rule for having early dinners by 7 -7:30 pm. And then I start my food routine from morning 7:30 am. It’s kind of intermittent fasting for me from 7 pm to 7 am I fast.
Tip3: Avoid added sugar
Added sugar is one of the bad ingredients in today’s modern diet. If you want to lose weight, eat simple, eat home cooked food and cut back on added sugar. Read labels carefully, because even so-called healthy food items are loaded with added sugar.
Avoid packaged food items.
Tip4: Avoid Refined Carbs
Refined carbs include hidden sugar and grains that have been stripped of their fiber and nutritious parts too. These include white bread and pasta, naan, etc. Eat carbs with their natural fiber.
Tip5: Keep a check on your behavioral eating habits
What you eat is definitely important. But how, when and where you eat is of equal importance in your weight loss journey.
Behavioral modification techniques can improve your eating habits and help you in avoiding unnecessary eating. Though changing your habits takes time, efforts, your zeal, and a lot of discipline, but the rewards can last a lifetime.
Best Behavioral Eating Tips
- Pen down your health goals like eating healthy, exercise routine, etc and refer to this note more often.
- Divert yourself when an untimely urge to eat strikes, step out for a walk or call your friend or best call your mom.
- Plan your meals well in advance so that you shouldn’t binge because your meal wasn’t ready.
- Over the weekends spend some time to prepare your tea time healthy snacks rather than packaged food.
- I promote home cooked food. Though it’s okay to eat outside occasionally.
- Eat only at the dining table without any distractions around you like no TV or no Phone while eating.
- Weigh only after a month. Weighing yourself often can be emotionally defeating.
Tip6: Increase intake of raw food
Raw fruits and vegetables have several properties that make them effective for weight loss.
They contain few calories but a lot of fiber and nutritious too. First whenever you feel hungry approach for fruits and vegetables around you.
Tip7: Keep yourself physically active
Doing cardio is an excellent way to burn calories and improve your physical and mental health. In addition to cardio for building muscle and toning some sort of resistance exercise such as lifting weights are important too.
Tip8: Get good sleep
Sleep is as important as eating healthy and exercising.
Studies show that poor sleep is one of the biggest reason for obesity. So 7-8 hours of night sleep is the best practice.
Instead of going on a diet, aim to become a healthier, happier, fitter and best version of yourself. Focus on nourishing your body with healthy choices instead of depriving it.
Weight loss should then follow naturally.
Eating healthy food and exercising regularly should be seen as a lifelong pursuit and not just a temporary arrangement to lose weight.
